Biography
Robin is the founder and co-CEO of PhysicsX, a company of scientists and engineers borne out of Formula One and numerical physics. He believes that to solve the urgent climate and industrial challenges we face, AI is essential to reconceive how engineering is practiced. PhysicsX is dedicated to building generative deep learning solutions to unlock breakthrough engineering performance across advanced industries.
A theoretical physicist by background, Robin worked alongside Nobel-prize winning physicists on the discovery, by simulation, of a foundational new effect in the cosmic background radiation. Robin left academia for the fastest development cycle on earth, Formula One, where he developed ground-breaking innovations that helped Renault F1 win back-to-back double World Championships.
As Chief Scientist and Head of R&D at Mercedes F1, he helped build one of the most successful F1 teams of all time. As director of vehicle technology at Bentley Motors, Robin was responsible for the overall simulation strategy and digital twin roadmap, working across the VW Group. Robin founded PhysicsX in 2019.

PhysicsX is deep-tech company of scientists and engineers dedicated to building generative deep learning solutions to unlock breakthrough engineering performance across advanced industries, in Renewables, Space and Aerospace, Automotive and Materials production. We work with our customers to address the critical challenges of our time, such as accelerating the energy transition and minimizing materials consumption, while avoiding harmful technologies.
Our technology uses generative geometric deep learning to accelerate and replace numerical simulations with large physics models (LPMs), which are 10,000 times faster and highly accurate, to supercharge virtual product development. We use this speed to search for improved designs, in both traditional design spaces and AI-generated geometries which humans have not conceived of. We find new design and operating conditions to help unlock previously unattainable efficiencies, material savings and operational optimization.
